There were eight
Euro Cup 1992 Participating Teams at the championship. Seven countries had to qualify for the final phase of Euro Cup 1992 and Sweden qualified routinely as it was hosting the championship.
In the initial stage of Euro Cup 1992, the participating teams had to contest for the qualifiers. The 33 teams that were selected as qualifiers were divided into seven groups. USSR took part in the final stage of Euro Cup 1992 under the name of CIS as because just before the final phase of the tournament the country was divided. Yugoslavia was the team to qualify in the final stage but due to political unrest in the country it faced disqualification and the runner-up team of the qualifying group, Denmark joined the final team.

The final matches took place from 10th June to 26th June 1992. The final eight participating teams of Euro Cup 1992 were divided into two groups. The teams of Group A were:

The teams that qualified for the knock-out semi-final matches were:

Germany defeated Sweden in the first semi-final match on 21st June and Denmark defeated Netherlands in the second semi-final match on 22nd June. The Euro Cup final match was played on 26th June 1992 between Denmark and Germany and the winner of Euro Cup 1992 was Denmark.
