The
Euro Cup 1980 Schedule was prepared according to the new format of the tournament. This time 8 teams participated in the tournament and they were divided into two groups.
Group A consisted of Greece, Netherlands, Czechoslovakia and West Germany. Group B had Italy, Spain, Belgium and England. Starting on 11th June, the tournament climaxed on the 22nd of the same month.
The opening matches were played between Czechoslovakia and West Germany in Rome while Greece faced The Netherlands in Naples. The 3rd and 4th place play off was played again in Naples on the 21st between the host Italy and Czechoslovakia.
The 1980 Euro Cup did not have any semi-finals as the two group champions automatically qualified to play in the final. The final was played at Olympic Stadium of Rome on the 22nd of June.
