For the first time in the history of European Championship, the
Euro Cup 1976 Winner was decided via the penalty shoot out. Czechoslovakia lifted the coveted trophy by defeating West Germany 5-3 via tie-breaker in the final. The match was tied 2-2 after regulation and extra time.
Coached by Vaclav Jezek, the Czechoslovakian team had star players like Pavol Biros and Dusan Herda. A list of the victorious Czech squad is given below:
