Dieter Muller of West Germany became the Euro Cup 1976 top scorers with 4 goals. He scored a hat-trick against Yugoslavia in the semi-finals and scored his fourth goal in the final. Dragon Dzajic of Yugoslavia and Ruud Geels of Netherlands followed him with two goals each.
A total of 19 goals were scored in the finals of European Nations Cup – 1976. The fastest goal of the Euro Cup 1976 was scored by Jan Svehlik of Czechoslovakia on the eighth minute in the final itself. Other scorers from both sides in the final were Muller, Holzenbein and Dobias.
