Euro Cup 1976 Participating Teams had to play the preliminary round before qualifying for the final phase of the tournament, played in Yugoslavia. Four teams qualified to play the finals. The teams were:
Czechoslovakia
West Germany
Yugoslavia
Netherlands
Some of the players of the victorious Czechoslovakian team were Ivo Viktor, Anton Ondrus, Dusan Gallis, Pavol Biros and Marian Masny. Sepp Maier, Berti Vogts, Franz Beckenbauer and Peter Nogly were some of the notable members of the runners up West Germany squad.
Yugoslavia had players like Borislav Dordevic, Dragon Dzajic and Jurica Jerkovic, while well known players of the Netherlands team were Peter Arntz, Henk Van Rijnsoever and Jan Ruiter.
