Euro Cup 1972 Winner was no other team but the indomitable West Germany of the 1970's. They defeated Soviet Union in the final by a score of 3–0. Two goals were scored by Muller and another one by Wimmer. In the semifinal, West Germany had beaten Belgium with a scoreline of 2–1.

The German attack was spearheaded by legendary striker Gerd Muller. Players like Paul Breitner, Sepp Maier and Gunter Netzer made the team rock solid.
