Four
Euro Cup 1972 Participating Teams vied for the honor in the final phase of the tournament. Apart from the host country Belgium, soccer powers like West Germany, Soviet Union and Hungary took part in the Euro 1972.
The formidable West Germany side, which lifted this edition of the European Championships, was coached by Helmut Schoen. Legendary players Franz Beckenbauer and Gerd Muller were notable members of that team.
