Dragan Dzajic of Yugoslavia was the
Euro Cup 1968 Top Scorer, held in Italy. He had scored two goals in the final rounds of this tournament, which mostly had low scoring matches. Apart from Dzajic, there were a few other players, who had also scored goals in the tournament. Geoff Hurst and Bobby Charlton of England and Pietro Anastasi, Angelo Domenghini and Luigi Riva of Italy - all had scored one goal each in this tournament of the Euro Cup. The fastest goal of the tournament came from Luigi Riva – at 12th minute of the replay of the final on 10th June.
Dragan Dzajic, one of the best players of Yugoslavia, scored the first of his two goals in the semi final match against England on 5th June, 1968. The 87th minute winner gave Yugoslavia their coveted place in the final of the tournament. Dzajic again scored in the final on 8th June, to give Yugoslavia the lead. However, Italy restored parity later and the match ended at one goal each. The Euro Cup 1968 ended as a low scoring tournament, with only 1.4 games per game.
