Euro Cup 1968 Participating Teams included most of the major powerhouses of European soccer. Four teams- England, Yugoslavia, USSR and Italy played in the final rounds of the tournament, which included the semi finals and the final. As many as 31 teams participated in the qualifying stages of the tournament. The participating teams of Euro 1968 were divided into eight groups of four teams each. Only group four contained three teams.

Euro Cup 1968 Participating Teams, winners of each of the groups qualified for the quarter finals, which continued to be played in the same format. The top four teams, which entered the semi finals, were Italy, England, Yugoslavia and USSR. The first semi final, involving host Italy and USSR, remained goalless and was decided by toss of coin. Luck was on the side of the hosts, who advanced to the final. They met Yugoslavia there, who had defeated England by a solitary goal in the other semi final. The final ended in a draw and was replayed. There, Italy got the better of Yugoslavia to emerge champions.
