Euro Cup 1964 Participating Teams were four in number. These teams had qualified after playing in the preliminaries on a home-and-away basis. The tournament, in its second edition, was played in the knockout format. The four teams which had qualified for the final stage were Spain, Soviet Union, Hungary and Denmark.
A total of 29 teams had taken part in the preliminary rounds. Some of the teams which had taken part are Spain, Soviet Union, Hungary, Denmark, Italy, Ireland, Bulgaria, France, Holland, Iceland, Portugal, Sweden, Yugoslavia, East Germany, Luxembourg, Austria, Northern Ireland, Albania, Czechoslovakia, Wales, Switzerland, Belgium, Norway, England, Romania, Poland, Malta, Turkey and USSR.
