The colossal Stadtturm is located on the eastern fringe of the Herzog-Friedrich-Strasse. The palatial tower of the city is one of the crowning attractions of the old town.
Stadtturm in Innsbruck was built between the years 1442 - 1450. The majestic building housed the quarters of the city watchman, who guarded the city at night and raised alarm in case of insurgencies. The former pointed roof of the Stadtturm of Innsbruck was refurbished with the bulbous cupolas in the year 1560. Stadtturm, Innsbruck rises to a height of 187 feet or 57 meters and provides a captivating view of the imposing Nordkette mountain range and the city.
Stadtturm at Innsbruck remains open for the public between 10 A.M and 5 P.M from the month of October to May. Between the months of June and September, the tower remains open for the public from 10 A.M to 8 P.M.
