Leopoldsbrunnen is a fountain of historical importance. The fountain marks the political power of Archduke Leopold V in the 17th century. The statue has a Silver Chapel and a theater close to it.
This fountain in Innsbruck has the statue of a person on a horse. The horse is on its hind legs, a position, which is commonly known as the Courbette. The statue or the fountain stands next to an ancient tree, which is also defended for its historical importance. The history of the construction of the Leopoldsbrunnen goes back to the year 1894 and is one of the best displays of the architecture of the time.
The statue of the person on the horse is that of Archduke Leopold V, who reigned between 1619 and 1632. It is assumed that he was one of the most popular rulers of the time in Romania. The statue of Archduke Leopold V is surrounded by the statues of the sea deities. Some of the original statues of these deities have been restored at the regional museum of Ferdinandeum Tyrol.
