Euro 2008- Turkey: Turkey has been put alongside host Switzerland, Portugal and Czech Republic in Group A of Euro 2008. This is the fourth time that Turkey has qualified for this football competition between European countries. They played their first Euro Cup in 1996 followed by 2004. Some of the most important players in their Euro 2008 team are Hakan Sukur, Rustu Recber and Umit Karan.
Turkey national football team has Fatih Terim as their head coach since 2005. They will start their campaign on the first day of the tournament in Euro 2008 on 7th June at Stade de Geneva against Portugal. They will next play opposite to host Switzerland at St. Jakob Park in Basel on 11th of June. The last match of the group stage for Turkey against Czech Republic will take place on 15th June at Stade de Geneva.

Euro 2008- Turkey Qualifying Rounds
Turkey was into Group C of Euro 2008 qualifiers. The other teams in the group were Malta, Norway, Greece, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Hungary and Moldova. They lost their home match to Greece and had a draw with Norway, but won against all other opponents. In their away matches, they lost against Bosnia and Herzegovina, had a draw against Malta and Moldova and won rest of the matches.
