Euro 2008- Switzerland: Switzerland does not have a long history of Euro Cup campaigns to their name. This team has qualified only twice for the finals of the tournament. They failed to qualify between 1960 and 1992. They played their first match of European Football Championships in 1996. However, they again could not qualify in 2000. They however qualified for the 2004 season of the Euro Cup. Switzerland national football team has never been able to advance beyond the first round of the European Football Championships.
Switzerland will participate in the Euro 2008 by virtue of being the co-host with Austria. The Switzerland national football team, also known as the Schweizer Nati, has been placed in Euro Cup 2008 Group A, along with Portugal, Czech Republic and Turkey. Jacob Kuhn, who has been associated with the team since the year 2001, is the head coach of Switzerland.
