Musee Ariana is one of the great repositories of ceramic art and feature as one of the primary Geneva attractions. Situated in the heartland of the city, the museum preserves the architectural anachronisms in the form of exceptional artifacts. Presently, the museum also functions as headquarters of International Academy of Ceramics.
Musee Ariana, Geneva houses its collection in the colossal building constructed in the Italian Renaissance architectural style. The building was constructed under the patronage of Gustave Revilliod, the Genevese patron of the 19th century.
Musee Ariana at Geneva assembles more than 16,000 exhibits created out of ceramic. The illustrious collection dates over seven centuries and preserves artifacts of the present century as well. Most of the art work has been gathered from Switzerland and Europe. Some of the artifacts are of oriental origin. The museum showcases a huge collection of glass, pottery and Delft faïence, Sèvres and Meissen porcelain articles.
Musee Ariana of Geneva remains open for public viewing in the week days between 10 A.M in the morning to 5 P.M in the evening. Special exhibitions are also held in the museum.
