World Cup Semi Final Germany

The World Cup Semi Final 2006 was scheduled to take place in the Munich FIFA World Cup Stadium and Dortmund FIFA World Cup Stadium. Munich was also the venue for the Official Opening Ceremony of the 2006 FIFA World Cup on 9 June, 2006. Munich stadium will be hosting the opening match, one semi-final and four more matches of the tournament.

In the 2002 South Korea/Japan World Cup - Germany, South Korea, Brazil and Turkey were the four teams that reached the semi-finals. In the first semi-final at Seoul World Cup Stadium, Germany defeated South Korea 1-0. In the second semi-final at Saitama Stadium, Brazil defeated Turkey 1-0. It was a big time to celebrate for South Korea as it became the first Asian side to reach a World Cup semi-final.

In the 1998 France World Cup - Brazil, Netherlands, France and Croatia were the four teams that reached the semi-finals. Brazil defeated Netherlands 4-2 in a Penalty shoot-out. France defeated Croatia 2-1. This time too the home crowd was excited as France had reached the semi-finals and was heading towards the finals.

This FIFA season(2006), the first semi-final was scheduled to take place in Dortmund on 04th July, between Germany and Italy.
The second semi-final was scheduled to take place in Munich on 05th July, between Portugal and France.
