The final match of Germany FIFA World Cup 2006 took place at Berlin Olympic Stadium on July 9. The Berlin Olympic Stadium was reconstructed for the same purpose over last four years. Four 'group stage' matches, a quarterfinal and the 2006 FIFA World Cup Final is scheduled to take place here.
The final took place between Italy and France.
The 1998 France FIFA World Cup Final was played between Brazil and France at Stade de France in Saint Denis. France defeated Brazil 3-0 and emerged as the 1998 World Cup Champions. The final had a lot of mystery attached to it as to what happened to Ronaldo hours before the 1998 World Cup Final. He was rushed to hospital after suffering convulsions in his sleep.
The 2002 South Korea/Japan FIFA World Cup Final was played between Brazil and Germany at International Stadium Yokohoma in Yokohama. Brazil defeated Germany 2-0 and emerged as 2002 World Cup Champions. Ronaldo scored twice in the match leading his team to victory.
