TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO DRAW MATCH WITH SWEDEN
Trinidad and Tobago put forth a commendable performance drawing the Group B match with Sweden. The Soca Wariors played the entire second half with 10 men.

Even then they put a brilliant performance on soccer's biggest stage. Shaka Hislop and Dwight Yorke played a crucial role. Hislop showed his goalkeeping talent to the fullest. He made big saves including the sliding stop off a shot from Marcus Allback in the 80th minute. Ibrahimovic, Henrik Larsson and Freddie Ljungberg came out with many chances when Sweden could have scored a goal. But Hislop

displayed sparkling play and the Swede efforts went in vain. In the first half, he made two key saves. One was a 25-meter shot from Wilhelmsson in the 40th minute. He also made a diving stop of a shot from Ibrahimovic two minutes later. Even though, Sweden had many things in its favor, it could not score a goal. It is a more experienced and talented team. In had one more advantage when T & T player Avery John was sent off in the 46th minute when he was shown the yellow

card for the second time for a foul on Christian Wilhelmsson. With this defeat, Sweden has been without a victory in its kitty in seven opening matches since 1958. In these seven opening matches the team had two losses and five draws. The coach of the Trinidad and Tobago team employed a defensive game plan. Considering the fact that defender Marvin Andrews did not play because of a strained

left knee in the beginning, the side's defence was not that strong. Stern John was the lone forward for Trinidad. So it was not possible for the Soca Warriors to score with goalkeeper Rami Shaaban on the save. Trinidad next plays England on Thursday and Sweden play Paraguay on the same day.
