Brazil defeated Japan 4-1 in the Group F match in Dortmund on Friday. Ronaldo scored twice in this match. With these two goals he equaled Gerd Mueller's record of 14 goals in World Cup finals.

Keiji Tamada for Japan scored the first goal of the match in the 34th minute. Ronaldo scored the second goal of the match in the 81st minute. Ronaldo was criticized for his poor performance in Brazil's first two games. The next three goals for Brazil came from Juninho Pernambucano, Gilberto and Ronaldo in the second-half of the match.

Brazil finished at the top of the Group with maximum points. This was also the team's 10th successive win at the World Cup finals. Japanese goalkeeper Yoshikatsu Kawaguchi did his job well. Kawaguchi saved many shots including hits from Ronaldo, Robinho, Kaka and Juninho.

Juninho scored the second goal for Brazil in the 53rd minute. Ronaldinho scored the third goal for Brazil in the 59th minute. With this defeat, Japan was knocked out of the tournament with just one point in its kitty.
