Poland defeated Costa Rica 2-1 in a final Group A match in Hanover on Tuesday. Both Poland and Costa Rica have been knocked out of the tournament before this match. Poland holds third position in Group A and Costa Rica holds the last position. Germany and Equador from Group A have qualified for the second round.

Bartosz Bosacki scored both the goals for Poland. It was a big occasion for him as these goals were his first goals for Poland. Ronald Gomez of Costa Rica scored the first goal of the match in the 25th minute. Defender Bartosz Bosacki scored the first goal for Poland in the 33rd minute.

He scored the winner goal in the 66th minute. Poland coach Pawel Janas was proud of his team's efforts. Poland missed on an opportunity before halftime when Krzynowek's free kick was pushed wide of the goal by Costa Rica goalkeeper Jose Porras. Till now Costa Rica has given away nine goals in three matches.

Costa Rica go home with no points in their kitty.
