Brazil defeated Ghana 3-0 in the knockout stage match on Tuesday in Dortmund. Ronaldo, Adriano and Ze Roberto scored the three goals of the match from the Brazilian side. Ronaldo hit his record 15th World Cup goal on Tuesday.

With this goal Brazil has secured a place in the quarterfinals and Ghanahas been knocked out of this tournament. Ghana got many opportunities but it could not materialize them into a goal. John Mensah's effort to score a goal in the 42nd minute was saved by Dida.

This goal was Ronaldo's 15th World Cup goal. This goal also won Ronaldo the laurel of being the tournament's all-time leading scorer in the fifth minute. He hit a goal from a pass from Kaka. Adriano scored in first-half injury time. Ze Roberto scored the third goal of the match in the 84th minute. Ghana was shown six yellow cards.

Brazil will face France or Spain in the quarterfinals on Saturday in Frankfurt.
