Sulley Ali Muntari is said to have "the touch of Kaka and the combativeness of Edgar Davids." Muntari hit a goal for Ghana in the match against Czech republic in the 2006 FIFA World Cup, where the Black Stars secured a 2-0 victory. He is a member of Udinese. He played a crucial role in their qualifying for the Champions League.
Muntari along with Michael Esien and Stephan Appiah forms a tireless midfield trio. Muntari came into focus of the European clubs at the 2001 World Youth Championship in Argentina. Ghana Under-20s lost to the hosts in the final. Manchester United noted his talent here. Unfortunately he could not make the most of this opportunity. He was then roped in by Udinese.
Muntari was included in the full Ghana squad in June 2004 and he made his debut against Burkino Faso in the qualifiers for Germany 2006. In the past, Muntari was sent home from Athens Olympics for disciplinary reasons.
Ghana fans are looking forward to Muntari, this FIFA season in Germany.
