Asamoah Gyan hit five goals for Ghana in 2005. This brought to notice his striking ability. Unfortunately, he suffered an injury on the eve of the CAF African Nations Cup finals in Egypt. He has proved himself as a consummate goal scorer. His pace, killer finish and physical strength are qualities on which the Black Stars team banks on. He is referred to as a player who has all the qualities of the great West African strikers.
He started his career at Liberty Professionals in Ghana. He was also a part of the Ghana team at the 2004 Olympic Football tournament in Athens. He made his international debut in a match with Somalia on 19th November, 2003. In this match, he scored a goal against Somalia. He scored four times in seven matches during the World Cup qualifying campaign.
He has played for Udinese and Modena. Ghana soccer fans are waiting to see how he performs on the big stage this FIFA season.
